Following the success of the IESE Communication Skills Course on the Executive MBA program 2 weeks ago, Tony Anagor Director LifestyleDMC was asked to collaborate on the International MBA program to help prepare the future captains of industry for a world where as Anthony Robbins says..“the quality of your communication is directly related to the quality of your life” For the last 10 years LifestyleDMc has worked with thousands of corporate companies offering simple services such as a venue suggestion or hotel reservation to the much more challenging roles of full conference management or product launches for new exciting concepts. The last 2 years however have been characterised by the need to work on some fundamental issues such as leadership, conflict management and communication skills. “One of the great things about this job” says Tony “is that I get to see how some of the top companies in the world manage the whole process of team bonding, team building and incentive programs for staff” Some companies clearly have an active commitment to ensure that they really invest in their staff because they care. The comradery is palpable and the philosophies and values of the company shine through. For example in September we organised a 3 day program for Nike and it was clear to see how dedicated the team was and more importantly how they really got along with each other. Our efforts to deliver a top class program were not only appluaded on the day but later we were sent a gift directly from nike to thank us for the attention to detail and meticulously planning – an extention of how they treat their staff. Working on the MBA and Executive MBA programs at IESE gives LifestyleDMC the chance to see what kind of future managers and company directors will be in the major positions of responsibility in the years to come. It is commendable that the students take time to upgrade these skills in such a practical way and a sure sign that the role in continuous personal development is shifting to centre stage of the industrial and business landscape. We are also noticing a huge spike in the number of requests that have a real learning element to them for instance, for some companies it is no longer enough to just to do a sailing regatta for fun, our challenge is to identify the learning components of the event and present them in a fun and constructive manner by way of a presentation or a formal workshop. Learning was always supposed to be (and still is) fun.. Tony Anagor MD LifestyleDMC
